Public consultation opens on proposed college merger
A six-week public consultation has opened into the proposed merger of South Tyneside College and Tyne Metropolitan College.
Open until noon on Friday, March 17, it aims to gauge opinion on plans by the two colleges to combine their resources and expertise into one bigger, better, stronger college.
The new organisation, with the proposed name of Tyne Coast College, will operate across all existing campuses on both sides of the river, supporting the education and training needs of around 20,000 full and part-time students.
We believe our plans for a new college will offer many and far-reaching benefits to students, staff, stakeholders and the wider community.
This is your opportunity to give us your views.
